We’ve been working with local company ACE Fire Safety Solutions to install a new Fire Alarm system at the Centre, following an external audit of controls and systems. The new system protects the whole building including the Pre-School rooms and the unfinished upstairs area.
We were really impressed standard of installation completed by Alan of ACE Fire Safety Solutions, who was a pleasure to work with.
The safety of the community and OCC groups were at the heart of the decision to invest in this system, which is part of the much-needed TLC that OCC will be getting over the next few months, to ensure that the centre’s legacy continues as a space for connection, for generations to come
We will be working with our user groups to undertake training on the new system over the next few weeks.
(We’ve left some of the old smoke detectors in situ for now, these are disconnected and are no longer operational – we’ll remove these as we re-decorate / make good the holes!)
The new OCC fire alarm system meets current recommendations and regulations. There are sounders in each room, with visual alerts for the hard of hearing. We have ‘break glass’ buttons next to each exit for people to manually trigger the system, as pictured above.
