Water main & inspection chamber covers

We’ve been completing some essential maintenance over the half term break (whilst pre-school and many of our users have a well earned break) – we’ve replaced a section of water main using a mole (to save the amount of digging required), and had two inspection chamber covers replaced (one was collapsing, one – with a 12 tonne rating – was cracked). Both have been replaced with covers rated at 40 tonnes which should cope with the growing trend in heavier electric vehicles (and then some).

Preparing for a new cover
Holes for the water main to enter the building (far) & to avoid existing drain pipes (near)
40 tonne rating should be enough…
New water main pipe (with end cap removed!)

Many thanks to Adam of APH Plumbing and Heating for managing the team on this – we are very pleased with the results!
